Elections Matters
As the election season heated up, I was feeling very anxious and extremely unprepared. I knew all the basics about voting, but when it came to the candidates, key issues, and overall process I was confused and lost. This all changed when I watched and heard my classmates presentations about election matters. These presentations provided an in-depth look at the aspects I had previously overlooked. I walked away with a newfound confidence and understanding of the impact of every individuals vote. It is amazing how much of a difference it makes when we are informed about the issues and candidates. Having a deeper understanding of the election process can really empower us to make our voices heard.
Key Points from the Presentations
My classmates presentations were all good in my opinion and they were very informative. The presentation that most stuck out to me was from group 4 about gender equality. It struck me knowing that the world still struggles with the equality of all genders. The fact that women and girls represent half of the worlds population and potential, but gender equality persists everywhere is very shocking to me. learning about the key challenges with gender equality which include discrimination and violence and limited representation made me realize how important it is for my voice to be heard and how important it is to vote. Learning about each candidates view point on gender equality informed me more about who to vote for.
My groups topic was Immigration and I feel like I learned a lot while researching and putting together the presentation with my group. I realized how amazing and how eye-opening it can be to search into the variation of policy and see how much of a difference it can make in people's lives. Just the fact that the candidates have different viewpoint and approaches to immigration can have far reaching consequences not just for those seeking a new life in the United States of America, but also for communities and the economy as a whole. What is striking is how government leaders hold significant power over immigrants' opportunities and challenges. It is not just about politics; it is about people's lives. Understanding these complexities about immigration policy can be overwhelming, but it is crucial for informed decision making and is very important when casting your vote. As I searched deeper into immigration policies, I began to grasp the profound impact they have on individuals, families, and the nation as a whole. The various stances taken by candidates opened my eyes to the broader implications of this issue, extending beyond personal stories to affect the country's economy and social fabric. It is astonishing how differently candidates approach immigration reform, ranging from strict enforcement to more inclusive methods. This disparity underscores the importance of understanding each candidate's position and how their policies will shape the future.
Reflection
Being able to watch my classmates presentations about election matters was a game changer for me. At the beginning I was confused, unprepared, and lost about this year's election. After the presentations I now have a completely new perspective. I now realized that voting is not just about choosing candidate, but about understanding the complex issues at play such as immigration and gender equality. For the first time, I realized the true power of my vote, I saw how each policy decision and each candidates viewpoint would impact people's lives and shape our collective future. It is no longer a civic duty, but a chance to make my voice heard on issues that genuinely matter to me.
Engaging with in depth issues like the ones spoken by my classmates has been a total eye opener for me. I have now come to realize that every election has real world consequences that directly impact people's loves. this newfound understanding has sparked a determination to delve deeper into each candidate's policies and consider how they will affect my community and the nation as a whole.
I have learned that it is crucial to look beyond the surface level and explore the complexities of various policy matters. By doing so, I can make informed decisions that align with my values and support the well being of those around me.
Conclusion
To sum up everything that I had brought up, my classmates presentations helped me appreciate the intricacies of immigration policies and how they affect individuals, families, and communities, I also learned that it is crucial to look beyond the candidates and delve into the details of each policy I am now more determined than ever to approach future elections with confidence and informed decision making. Being prepared will enable me to engage in meaningful discussions with other people and share valuable insights. I have come to realize the importance of encouraging those around me to stay active and engaged in the democratic process. By staying informed and up-to-date on key issues, I will be able to make thoughtful decisions that align with my values. This newfound confidence stems from understanding how my participation impacts not just my own life but also the lives of those in my community. Voting is not just about choosing a leader, it is about shaping the kind of society we want to live in. By understanding the candidates' stances on immigration, we can make informed decisions about the future of our country. Election matters presentations really drove home the significance of governmental policy's ripple effect. For example immigration policy may seem straightforward, but it actually has a profound impact on various aspects of society, including job markets, family, structures, public service, and cultural exchange. This highlights the importance of considering each candidate's platform holistically, recognizing how their policies affect not just one area of life but the overall direction of our communities and country.
